Sukar Pasha Baklavas

Baklava has a long tradition in Turkey going back to Ottoman times. Chefs in the palace kitchens created the legend sweets called "baklava" which remain popular today. At Sukar Pasha, we take pride in combining the best ingredients coupled with skilled workmanship, expertise and attention to all our dishes, our sweets are not an exception.  The result is a "Turkish delight" with an exquisite symphony of tastes that will transport you back to the tables of the Sultans.

Symphony of tastes – the key is in the ingredients.
Ingredients are sourced from Antep and Urfa, Turkey. Our baklavas have a texture as our flours are sourced from hard wheat harvested from the plains of Harran, wind-milled and processed in Gaziantep. Pistaschios from Boz Antep gives our sweets its distinct crunch while pure oil from Urfa blends the flavor to its wonderful symphony. We only use Turkish ingredients, because pistachios from other regions differ from those grown in Turkey. The Antep pistachios used in our products are greener and tastier. The Barak plains, unique worldwide in terms of weather and soil quality, offer the best pistachios available. These are harvested before maturity and then put into special storage conditions where they can be safely kept for up to two years if they are dry. The butter comes from the Tektek Mountains in Urfa where the local animals provide the ideal milk for making the butter we use for our baklavas.
